A history of innovation: how Brevetti Angela shaped the evolution of Blow Fill Seal technology
Brevetti Angela is known today as one of the leaders in manufacturing Blow Fill seal machines for the aseptic packaging of pharmaceutical solutions. This excellent positioning is the result of many factors, which together built our journey through innovation in pharmaceutical packaging solutions.
A family history
The history of Brevetti Angela began in 1977, when Francesco Consolaro started the company in Arzignano, northern Italy, for the production of machines for plastic moulding. While the first years are dedicated to blow moulding of general plastic items, his attention soon turned to the pharmaceutical world and by the eighties he designed and patented some technological solutions for packaging of pharmaceutical liquids. This led to the first Blow Fill Seal machine entirely produced in Italy: in 1989 Brevetti Angela presented its first line of SYFPAC® machines for the production of Small Volume Parenterals and Large Volume Parenterals. From that moment on, Brevetti Angela has kept up with the times and the market by delivering solutions for aseptic packaging that comply with the strict requirements of international standards.
During the years, the founder’s sons joined the company and gradually took the lead, keeping research and development as keystones that result in several further patents related to different aspects of the Blow Fill Seal technology: from the design of a special Eco head for the bottles, to the production of prefilled syringes, up to special arrangements for production of temperature sensitive formulations like vaccines.
Today, the third generation of Consolaro’s family is working alongside their parents to learn from their long experience and drive the company into the future. From this special collaboration between managers and legacy, two groundbreaking innovations are born. The first is the design of innovative prefilled syringes that are going to revolutionize the world of injection devices. The second is a groundbreaking SYFPAC® machine called DUO, which for the first time integrates the closed parison concept with insertion technology, making it the best innovation in the BFS world.

More than just a family heritage, Brevetti Angela has passed down the generations a set of values that stand at the core of its business. First and foremost, attention to every detail when manufacturing every SYFPAC®, to provide the best BFS machines. All parts of the process are carefully analyzed and performed, from sales discussions to economic transactions, from mold design to machine assembling, from final testing to after-sales assistance.

A dedication to continuous improvement and innovation in aseptic packaging, which means being informed about international regulations at all times, and presenting solutions that are able to overcome the many challenges that are found in the world of aseptic filling.
Thirdly, the knowledge that every person in the company plays an important role in delivering the best service and is rewarded for this. For this reason, the largest part of Brevetti Angela’s staff has been working there for decades and new employees can get the most from this long shared experience.
Elevating Made in Italy excellence in global BFS manufacturing
Brevetti Angela has always strived to represent the Made in Italy excellence around the world. Since the beginning, SYFPAC® machines have been distributed internationally, for the production of Large and Small Volume Parenterals, and also Prefilled Syringes. Some of these machines have been working for more than 25 years and are still functioning thanks to careful maintenance and to continuous improvements and upgrades.
For each machine, Brevetti Angela has taken special care with compliance with local regulations and is always of course available for dedicated assistance, in person or remote. Assistance always comes from the headquarters in Arzignano, where several languages are fluently spoken, and in some countries it is also backed up by local personnel which are specifically trained. SYFPAC® machines are present today in many continents, covering not only Europe, but also the Middle East, Africa, India, Asia and America.
International presence is also reinforced by being part of recognized organizations like BFS IOA. Brevetti Angela is proud to be a speaker at their conferences, where the exchange of know-how is always paired with an open discussion between pharma producers and machine manufacturers. Constant participation in international exhibitions like the PDA events, ACHEMA or CPHI Worldwide is also a fundamental part of global presence, as it is an opportunity to meet old customers, and to spread the word of Blow Fill Seal to the ones who are still using traditional filling techniques and may indeed benefit by switching to BFS instead.
