Primary packaging of pharmaceutical dosage forms shall be designed, manufactured, processed and assembled in a way that does not alter the safety, identity, strength, quality or purity of the drug product beyond the established requirements. Secondary packaging and labelling contribute to avoiding breakage and to ensure safe transport.While a simple concept, successful packaging of pharmaceutical products is a complex and demanding task, as demonstrated by the extensive resources of time, funds, and professional staff committed to such efforts across a broad spectrum of pharmaceutical firms, packaging suppliers and other support organizations.

This conference aims to provide a platform to facilitate dialogue among the various entities committed to pharmaceutical packaging, including pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, providers of primary packaging materials and components, as well as suppliers of assembly and inspection equipment. Topics to be explored will include some of the latest developments in packaging materials & components, assembly and processing, extractables & leachables, and container closure integrity.

The conference program is intended to initiate and support discussion and professional exchange through a diversity of scientific presentations, workshops, training courses, joint dinners and networking events.
