THE CONTROL SYSTEMS

The Control Systems supervise the various functions of the machines and automatically conducts the logical sequence of operational phases. The elements of the control system are:

Machine Controls:

Preset management of operating thresholds optimizes the consumption of utilities and permits an overlap of machine functions.

Integrated Quality Assurance:

The quality of extrusion is maintained through control of extrusion barrel and head temperature, extruder speed, parison thickness profile and parison length. Trends are controlled and automatically corrected to optimize product quality.

Production Controls:

Automatic startup and shutdown of extruder heaters and automatic stop of the machine under certain alarm conditions facilitate operation.

Programmable CIP-SIP cycles with registration of filter integrity test data, sterilization time and temperature (automatic F0-calculation) facilitate adherence to GMP protocols.

Maintenance and Trouble Shooting:

Over 100 alarm conditions have been programmed and necessary preventive maintenance needs are automatically signaled. An extensive diagnostics system for verification of input and output signals facilitates troubleshooting.

The control system has facility of connecting MODEM for remote diagnosis and trouble shooting of the machine. This facility could save machine down time.

Data Input and Output:

The Video unit with multi language support and incorporated keyboard, allows direct and simple access to facilitate programming, visualization of information in graphic and alphanumeric format and connection to an external printer. The adjustable machine parameters include screw speed, barrel temperature, carriage movement stroke, various time delays and parison thickness control. Complete sets of operating parameters can be memorized on external memory facility and can be fed into the PLC when changing the type of plastic material or container format.
